Building a city with a clear investment system
Like many other municipalities, the City of Trenčín faced challenges in effectively managing a growing number of investment projects. Traditional methods using office suites and shared files proved to be inefficient.
The goal of the sixth MIRRI SR hackathon, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan of Slovakia, was to develop a digital system that would cover all processes related to implementing investment actions in the city. The system aims to improve internal processes, define responsibilities for ongoing projects, and include a public interface with real-time data for citizens.
The Solution – A Comprehensive Investment Management System
With the support of the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development, and Informatization, a modern and comprehensive investment management system was developed. This system, created in collaboration with Aricoma Systems s.r.o., is built on Microsoft 365 and leverages PowerApps and Power Automate to optimize workflow.
Key benefits of the new system
- Centralized Storage – All relevant documents, information, and project data are stored in one secure location.
- Transparency & Clarity – The system provides a complete overview of each investment project, including status, budget, and progress tracking.
- Process Automation – Routine tasks such as deadline tracking and report generation are automated, saving time and reducing human errors.
- Improved Collaboration – All stakeholders can access real-time information and collaborate seamlessly on projects.
- Enhanced Communication – The system facilitates efficient communication among all involved parties.
- Increased Efficiency – Thanks to automation and better organization, the management of investment projects has become more effective.
- Public Information Access – The system allows easy publication of investment project details on the city’s website, increasing transparency and keeping citizens informed.
Key features of the system
- Central Investment Action Register – A comprehensive database of all projects with filtering and search capabilities
- Detailed Project Information – Including budget, timeline, documentation, and other relevant data
- Automated Notifications – The system alerts responsible personnel about critical deadlines and project milestones
- Report Generation – Ability to create various reports for management and the public
- City Website Integration – Automatic publication of project information for public access
